Fitness Shoot

Sunday I had the opportunity to do my first fitness photo shoot. Josée was less than a week away from competition, and in amazing shape to say the least. It was a fun and effortless day at the studio with some amazing images to commemorate it. I’ve also put them on flickr as usual. Oh, did I mention that some of these images were submitted to The Hot and Fit 100 for a competition that may land me a cover? Yeah, awesome!

#LifeOfStyle

I’ve been pretty lucky this week to have made some amazing new friends, and to have been invited to not one, but two great events. The first event was Rhythm & Rum at Casino Lac Leamy, and the second (at which I took plenty of photos) was Life Of Style. Many thanks go out to the lovely people that made everything possible, especially Twenty York Street, Thann Skincare, Beyond Events, and Starfish Events. Honourable mention goes to Jordan and Brian from Project: Priceless for pushing me to try doing things outside of my comfort zone.

Pictures from LifeOfStyle can be found on my flickr page, which will be updated with more in the coming days.

Project: Priceless – Updated

There seems to be an endless stream of photos from Jordan and Brian’s wedding, especially when I’m staring at them in Lightroom at 3 a.m. in my living room. They just stare back at me, taunting me, telling me that there are a couple hundred more that need to be touched up. At this very moment I have 226 final images (already on flickr) with probably another 25-50 in the works.

Still here…

Hey guys and gals!

I’m still alive and kicking. Yay! I’ve been busy these past few months and my lack of posts show it. I am also working on a new layout for my site so this format probably won’t get too many updates. On that note… I have uploaded some teaser images from Jordan and Brian’s wedding (a.k.a. Project: Priceless). You can head over to my portfolio to check them out. They are under the label ”PROJECT: PRICELESS – The Big Day”.

Engagement shoot for Project: Priceless [1] – Sleep [0]

I met up with Jordan and Brian a few days ago for their engagement shoot at the Museum of Nature, and we quickly went to work to keep me from falling asleep. I had just gotten off work at 7 am, and we scheduled the shoot for 10. I can sleep when I’m dead, right? Right. When all was said and done, the couple and their on-line followers were very happy with the resulting images. You can check out a large sample of them on my flickr page or as a full-screen slideshow (it looks a lot better).

Work, work, work…

Just in the middle of doing post on A.J. and Raechel’s wedding photos and I have to admit it’s hard work. Their big day was a breeze, all 11 hours of it, however looking through over a thousand images on my computer is a little less social and a little less fun. Working with people makes photography fun. On the bright side, I do get to enjoy their wedding for a second time through my own work and I hope they will feel the same once I hand over the pictures. *Fingers crossed*

20,000 views on flickr!

Thanks to everyone who has viewed my flickr page over the past year. I never thought I would even reach a thousand, but here I am now at 20,000.

Attention photographers!!!

My friends at Studio Four30 are featured on DealFind.com (Ottawa). They have a ridiculously low-priced package available for any aspiring studio photographers, including 2x two-hour workshop classes with a female professional model, as well as a separate hour of studio time for just $69 CAD. Normally a one-hour studio rental is $50 on its own, plus $25 per hour for the studio lighting. The deal is only available today so you know what to do!

Good News

Today I woke up to 3 missed calls, a couple text messages, and an e-mail. Jordan from Project: Priceless was trying to get a hold of me to let me know that my photo of them will be published (!!!) in Wedding Essentials magazine! Thanks Jordan and Wedding Essentials magazine, you made my day :D

Meeting new people!

Meeting new people is fun! I just met with Aran and Alina to discuss the possibility of me shooting their wedding. I, of all people, had to rush the end of the meeting thanks to the bad parking situation in Westboro but overall came away with positive feelings.
They found me through my friend Lydia’s website and just e-mailed me out of the blue about a week ago. I’m not going to keep blabbing away, but hopefully more posts about Aran and Alina will follow :D Oh, and did I mention they are getting married at Le Petit Mort Gallery? How awesome is that?
